Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions

Members of PRISM have been pleasing clients for over a decade with custom designed entertainment to satisfy even the most discriminating musical tastes. We have never compromised in our commitment to the highest standards of excellence in our field. And we never will.

General Questions:

Q: Will there be a variety of music to please both young and old alike?
A: One of the key elements in the success of any party is the variety of music and entertainment that is presented. It is most important that each and every guest at your party be provided with music that he or she enjoys dancing and listening to. It should come as no surprise that PRISM takes great pride in our versatility and in the authentic "feel" that we impart to our music.

Q: How much music will there be during the party?
A: We often start with a full hour of either dance or soft dinner music, whatever the occasion requires. A 15-minute break will then be taken followed by another hour of music, etc. The times can be altered to suit your needs.

Q: What happens when the band takes a break? I don't want my party to stop.
A: PRISM provides a sound system during intermissions. We typically play a mix of dance music to keep the party moving. You can also provide us with specific CD's you would like to hear during breaks.

Q: I'm concerned about the volume of the band. How can we be sure that PRISM won't be too loud?
A: We are experts at keeping the volume just right. During dinner we play a mix of standards, jazz, easy listening, and soft rock at a volume that allows your guests to carry on a conversation. After dinner, we "crank it up" just enough to get the crowd dancing. PRISM brings a sound system to every gig that provides the highest quality sound, even at low volumes.

Q: When will the band arrive?
A: It is our policy to see to it that all of the musicians arrive 60 minutes prior to starting time. This allows enough time to set up the musical instruments and analyze the acoustics of the reception room. It also provides time for any last minute questions or requests that you have.

Q: Do you honor requests and special announcements?
A: If you would like to have any special songs performed during the party and you know about them in advance, kindly let us know about them so that we can give them special consideration. If you prefer the original artist's version of a particular song, then you can provide a copy of it for us, and we can play the recording during the party. In regard to special announcements such as birthdays, engagements or anniversaries, we will be more than happy to make them. It would be wise for you to write down your special announcements so that we can read them at the appropriate time.
Wedding Questions:

Your wedding day is, without a doubt, one of the most joyous, special events of a lifetime. It is a time to formally pledge your commitment of love to each other, to share hopes and dreams, to begin a new life together. Yet, it is also a time for which important decisions must be made, some of which will have a direct bearing on the very success of your wedding reception. One such decision is the choice of entertainment for your affair.

Q: What about our first dance?
A: To be sure, the first dance is one of the highlights of your reception. You want to be sure that the song you choose best reflects the special feelings that only you and your loved one can share. Our policy concerning your first dance is very simple. Whatever your choice may be, we will do our best to satisfy you. If you would like some suggestions in the way of helping you choose your first dance, we can provide you with a list of popular love ballads.

Q: How will the Bridal Party be introduced?
A: Many couples elect to have their bridal parties introduced according to standard procedure as follows:
Bride and Grooms Parents.
Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
Bridesmaids and Ushers
Maid of Honor and Best Man
Bride and Groom
Of course, these introductions can be customized to your particular needs and tastes. All of this information can be provided to PRISM on the wedding data sheet, which you fill out in advance of the wedding.

Q: How do you handle the cake cutting ceremony, dancing with the parents of the Bride and Groom, and garter and bouquet ceremony?
A: With regard to all three of these ceremonies, our policy is the same. If you choose the traditional accompanying music, i.e., Daddy's Little Girl, The Bride Cuts the Cake, etc., this is what you will have. Or if you so choose, we will highlight each ceremony with any type of music you desire.

Q: Will there be a Master of Ceremonies with the band?
A: Another key element in making your reception a success lies with the ability of the entertainers to have your guests and relatives dancing, laughing, and having the time of their lives. PRISM has an experienced leader/Master of Ceremonies who will see to it that your special day turns out to be one of your dreams come true. Whether it be an audience participation number, or a tender moment between Bride and Groom, you can be sure that your reception will be treated with a balance of good humor and sensitivity.
In Conclusion:

We hope that the above discussion has answered some of the questions you may have had about your party or wedding entertainment. It is also our way of showing you just how special PRISM can make your celebration.
